Busy, busy!
Weekends are usually pretty busy for me here. I often have people coming to buy chicks but today is so nice that I am going to get a ton of work done.

Or try, anyhow.

I have set up a bunch of auctions this morning over in the "Crazy 24 hour auction" area. I will set up more tomorrow morning. Somebody has to pay for all this food!

I hatch Silkie eggs right along with my Marans eggs. The Silkies pop out about day 19 or 20, sometimes even at day 18 depending on my heat.
I set mine in a big Sportsman for the first 18 days. Temp is 100.5 most of the time and humidity is straining to be kept at 50% right now. Most days I open it to see 40-45%. I like to keep it at 50% but am only losing about 2 eggs out of 30 so I am not too unhappy. When I set the eggs over into the Genesis 1588 on day 18 or 19 then I put the humidity up to 70% and temp at 100.2. My humidity keeps falling off but if I add a warm wet sponge it helps.

Give those Marans eggs to day 24. They often can take longer to hatch. Dark eggs seem to take a bit longer so do the same if you hatch Penedesencas, too. Though I haven't heard anyone on here with Penes. I know Luann has them but I am not sure about anyone else on our SC thread. Luann can tell you way more about hatching than i ever could. She knows all the things to trouble shoot for.

Give your new 'bator a good 4 days of running before adding eggs and please do cheap eggs first. You need to learn your 'bator and popping expensive eggs in there may be a heartbreak.

I would love getting these. It is a 3 1/2 hr drive for me one way so I can't do it.
We are supposed to be working on more brooders today. Never ending job!
