I have a feeling once she starts with chickens she's going to be as addicted as I am!

Everything on the farm is damp. It's been an ugly week. But the sun will return and with it, my husband from the UK! For a few days anyway. I had a lav ameraucana hatch today and two more are pipped. And the most exciting part! When I was setting eggs a few weeks ago, I needed one more to they wouldn't be rolling around. I collected a beautiful pink egg that day (probably an EE) and stuck it in there. I put it in lockdown this morning and it's already pipped! I don't really want another EE but the fact that it's OURS is so cool! Our first one! My kids keep looking in the incubator saying, "We know your mom and dad!" I also have four of my silkie eggs in lockdown. It's so much more fun (and cheaper!) to hatch your own eggs. The start of a new era.....
