South Carolina

Just came in from making sure none of the chickens floated away in that storm. I love rain, but the yard flooded quick! Luckily everyone was sitting high and dry in the coops. Good thing, because there was enough lightning hitting close enough to make fried chicken!
Hope the rest of y''all made it through the rain fine

We had lots of rain, and wind blowing sideways. I was fortunate to rescue three chicks from floating away. Had to wrap them up in a warm towel till they dried. Seem to be doing much better now. Only time will tell.

I tell ya, I have the worst of luck with chicks!!!! Argh!!!

Rocker Hen this is my Piper She's great with my chickens although since it's been hot she thinks she must stay in the house on a vent...Yes she's my first born and a wee bit spoiled, she and my little dog has a baby sitter while I'm at work!!!!! The Chickens are then under lock and key!!!!

I'm glad you were able to save them. I'm constantly amazed at how many people put little baby chicks outside. I'm not brave enough, my babies are coddled and smothered and kept in brooder boxes for as long as possible. Even hens with babies are penned for a few weeks until I feel the babies are big enough to be in the yard. I am the mother hen in charge around this yard.
