Yes! I have read they are really hard to train to get back up once you let them out so I am afraid to let mine go yet. Even if I leave them out I am afraid they will wander over to the neighbors and get killed by their dogs. I may wait until they are laying before I ever let them out!

Kidding! They will be turned loose eventually. Guinea Boy is a pretty good influence ....I hope.

But I like all the light colors. Bad for predators though so I hope to only let my dark ones free range and my light ones stay penned for eggs and keets next year. I want to try some Guinea Eggs with breakfast. I don't know if they can beat those ducks eggs though. And hard as rocks! OMG.

I have been letting my 5 month old ducks free range now. The 5 Golden Cascade girls along with a Pekin drake (Thanksgiving dinner!), a fantastic Cayuga drake and a Runner/Cayuga mix girl. They are loving it. As soon as I tag my 3 Saxony girls I will let them and the Saxony boys out to free range, too. I want to make sure I can tell the Saxony from the Golden Cascades. They look a lot alike!

Your birds are gorgeous! That roo made me say "hubba hubba!" Don't take offense. They don't know quality when they see it. However, please lock up your birds. Sounds like they may be the type that will come back and use their 5 finger discount when you aren't home.

We were going to get the royal purple, but I saw the corel blue and loved the color. So I ordered them, after I ordered I thought about the predator issues and am now worried about them free ranging. So maybe next time I will have to get the royal purple.

Did you hear that Robert, more quiet and calmness???

So Amy do you want Corel blue eggs down the road???

I did take my laptop but we never slowed down! We stay so busy there and love every minute(I really,really reccomend Jekyll if you have never been)! I would try and catch up in the evenings but usually crashed from our day!We are already planning our trip at christmas if we dont go back sooner! Unfortunatly it looks like there will be no way for me to go to chickenstock...got the Bday party...

...now Im sad...need more chickens...lol

Morgan had a photo shoot on Jeckyll island a couple of years ago. We loved it.. too.. We haven't gone to Savannah but I would like too..


I hate that your not coming to chickenstock.. what time is the party don't think you can squeeze in both?
