This has nothing to do with chickens, but I just finished a research paper on diversity in education that is due TOMORROW and I am SOO relieved to have it done! I wrote specifically on low-income students, which is actually a topic I'm very interested in..but I tell ya, I hate writing papers! It seems I don't get motivated until about 2 days before it's due! I need to work on that..lol.

ok...back to chickens...is it common for young pullets to lay double yolk eggs? I cracked the first 2 eggs I got from my marans pullet and the first egg was a double yolker!

Yancy, you probably cringed when you saw my yard! I would love to set out flowers and plants of all sorts but the chickens and ducks "help" too much so I gave up. Some stuff does survive well but I lost a lot of Iris (my favorite and easiest plant) when the ducks decided to help.
I should change the name to Wild Acres farm! The animals run wild and the flowers and weeds do, too!

Amy-U so Crazy, but I actually was thinking I haven't seen your chicken yard in non-winter time!!! I need to come visit!!! Oh but not on Labor Day...I'm not there yet in the Chicken World

OK Fingers

My Chickens of Eastwick(my middle chickens) are (where) pushed into the BigCoop Tonight...So everybody(i mean everybody) is under one coop roof....Lord help us they looked at me like I was Satan himself taking them to the slaughter...it's a much bigger home but that mean ol nasty rooster is in there(this is what they where telling me as I was making them go)...I feel like crap that I made my sweet middle chickens CUSS like sailors...
