South Carolina

I'm trying to not turn mine into pets or family. I do go out in the evening and sit out by the pen with a couple cats and watch them do their thing. I find watching the cats study the chicken kind of funny. The cats just go catatonic and stair at the chickens. The chickens walk up to the fence and talk tothe cats. I think the birds are giving the cats the beak. Maybe I'll get a chance to meet your girls some day. Maybe this spring if you have some chicks or eggs you can let go. Eveyone have a great night. It's late for me and the thunder storm seems to have stopped so off to bed for me.

Jett my barrred Holland and my wht leghorn are the same size.. built alot alike too.. leaner not so heavy like my BR .. I wish you could meet Jett she is wonderful.. seams silly to comment on a chicken like she was a dog or a child.. my husband says I spoil my chickens like I do my dogs and how he cant believe she doesn't sleep in my room at night on the bed with the poodle and chihuahua..

Don, I should have chicks and will definitely have eggs for sale. The chicks and birds sell pretty quick, even the roosters.

I will add you to my Spring 2012 waiting list so I won't forget to let you know. It helps me remember what I need to hatch too.

I am so happy for you! I have been amazed to see the totals here and see how little Greenwood has gotten. That means you weren't getting it either. This morning, I am about ready to say you can keep it all for yourself! I have errands to run, since I am off today, and the Race For the Cure is here tomorrow and I am sure they are having to do a lot of setting up for it. Enjoy the rainy morning. Hope your pain is better. Working in the dental field, I was having great sympathy for you.

Oh, gosh. Rain.....I just saw the ducks paddle their canoe past the window......

I read the rain gauge this morning and it said 4 1/2 inches. That is since Wed. afternoon when I dumped it.

Wow! That's a lot. We've had 1 1/2 inches in the last 24 hours (since last night really). I'll take what I can get at this point. Maybe the ponds will go back up. I have one that is spring-fed and isn't too bad but the other two are super low. Especially the one by the house which is the one I see. It's down about 10 ft or it seems like it. I have huge banks where there used to be none.

My lung and chest doctor gives me a script for prednisone every year since I started having those wierd swelling instances. Some mornings I will wake up with my uvula (sp), that dangling thing in the back of my throat, swollen double or more in size. One prednisone will stop it and relieve the swelling. I'm allergic to antihistamines and believe me the doctors didn't believe it and tried every one available. Of course I swelled, itched and broke out in hives with every single one until I finally said no more, I know what it is even if you don't. So I don't take them anymore. I don't usually need the prednisone more than once or twice a year now. I see the chiropractor regularly and that has really helped my health.

as someone who has battled COPD and severe chronic asthma, and taken a LOT of prednisone, please be careful with that stuff. I had to have cataract surgery in my 40's due to prednisone, and have had serious dental issues. Finally got to th point where I can better control my environment and have managed to stay off the stuff for the past 3 years.
