I wish. Sometimes not all the chicks sell, but as soon as I advertise pullets they are gone. I have a guy mad at me right now because he wanted 3 BCM pullets today, but someone showed up yesterday and bought all 10 of my last ones. I learned the hard way not to hold for Craigslist![]()
The pea combs make it tough for me. I'm usually just guessing until 3 months or so. Maybe with more experience I'll be able to tell betterI know, I finally found Silkie pullets in Augusta this week after looking for over a month. Then an earlier contact called me the next day with two black Silkie pullets. That's what the new coop and run are going to house. I'd like to get a blue/splash cockrell and dark blue pullet from you when you have them. How early can you tell sex and color?

Same line, but different pens from Paul. I will breed siblings once if I have to to start a flock, then I breed offspring to parents. Grandparents is even better. It can affect certain things if done too much, like egg production, but it's also used to breed better quality chickens. Working one line is easier to identify faults, rather than introducing new lines that may have a whole new set of faultsOk, are your roosters from different blood lines. I'm trying to think ahead and avoid inbreeding too much with a small flock. Is that much of a problem with chickens?

Ok, maybe I should preorder a few babies from you until I become an adequate incubator operator.
