My newest chickens.... I hope this works. I am very new to posting on here!!

I hope everyone had a good time at the swap on Sat and thanks to everyone who called or stopped by on Sat! It was nice seeing and meeting you all again.

I have and will have certain breeds available all through the fall and winter. Most of my blue and black Copper Marans are spoken for but as soon as the girls finish their molting I will again be setting their eggs.

Wasn't it wonderful to get the rain??? We so needed it!
I had no where much to move my chicken tractors because everything was so dry. I have several small tractors in front of the barn simply because with me filling the buckets and cleaning the water containers or duck containers it was still green. I doubt much grass will green back up but at least they are pecking at twigs anymore.

Now that it is cooler I will get back to building more tractors. I made an A frame over the summer and the silver laced bantam Cochins are enjoying that. I will probably make a few more since I have had a few interested in buying that one. And I really want to complete the project of a new breeding pen facility but that will take me a few months to save up for the materials.

Happy hatching everyone!

Had a good time at the swap meet, sold 8 rir chicks to some real nice folks, and bought two hens. Let's see came with 8 went home with 2. Hay not to bad!

Neat photo! Thanks for sharing!

And the photos of the hay bale chicks and things is awesome! If I had the hay I would do that in my front pasture. It would certainly make me smile and I am sure the passers-by would get a kick out of it. But then, I suppose the horse would eat the art work!

Update on my chicks.....I have all my EE chicks spoken for so none of those for a while. I will start hatching more in another month or two. And most all the Frizzle and Sizzles are gone but I have lots of eggs still in the 'bator. Also all the blue and black Copper chicks I have hatched and am hatching are spoken for. I do have a few Wellies but have someone coming soon to see them.

I am hatching a few crossbreeds for myself but knowing how that goes for me I am hatching a good many so others can get a few if they want them, too. This hatching stuff is too much fun, brooder cleaning is not! I now have 8 brooders running plus several grow out pens and the trampoline is a pen for roos that will be going into the freezer.

Now that cooler weather has arrived (thank goodness) I am starting to plan out more pens. I probably mentioned that but i find it so much fun to come up with new tractor ideas and build them to see what I may get.

Have you hugged your hen today?
