Susanne,
this rain is messing up my building, too. Although Nicole and I did get most of the fence on the new tractor. I had hoped we would pull fence for the duck pens but did not get that far. I had several people come over and I just love to talk.

I have so much to do on the duck pens and got 4 new girls yesterday! Two chocolate Muscovy and 2 more fawn/wht Runners!

And yes, to even it out I sold 10 chickens.

We need the rain but I sure would like to be out painting and using the saw and drill. Some things can't be built under the carport.

I wanted chocolate muscovies but was outvoted on that one.

Wish I had a carport..... of course if I did, there would probably be chickens under it and still no building room

Todd did not realize how many chickens we have until at TSC the day I got Nicole's new ducklings.

Todd: You have how many chickens?

Me: WE have that many. Not just me.

But I think over 1/4 are Silkies and 1/4 are chicks. So that is not bad.

And Friday he let me add 4 more chickies from Landrum.

They are supposedly Ameraucanas but I think just Easter Eggers. Just think, I get so excited to see eggs, that if I have a chicken that lays blue or bluish green eggs, I will probably pee in my pants! Cannot wait til my Marans start laying!

I am going to get some hatching eggs soon from Joy for some SLW. Soon. The sooner the better

After that, I am putting a hold on all my hatching and buying until at least August. That way my chicks can grow out, and I can decide which silkies to hold on to and which to let go, and get one of our laying flocks moved to the farm.

I bought 7 Faux Ameraucanas from TSC last year. I knew they were EE but wanted them anyway. All 7 ended up being roos! ARGH! This year I have so far resisted impulse buying.

That is likely to change at any point in the future.

I have all three.......EEs, Ameraucanas and Araucanas. I like them all but I get a variety of egg color from all three pens. Greens, blues and brown!

Kimberly, Nicole did not seem too thrilled with the Muscovy. I know it takes someone with a blind eye (like me) to see the potential in those birds. I am looking at broodies and meat producers! LOL Nicole was looking for beauty but those girls are only beautiful to their Mama...me!

Now you all are going to think I am crazy but I bought 7 little chicks up in Landrum the other day.

I put them in with my other group the same age and am trying to remember now what I bought. Speckled Sussex, SLW, GLW and I think that was it. Last year I kept getting roos from them so I am trying not to buy this year. Not to mention I have about 260 coming from hatcheries, too. Of course, 30 of those is ducks.

Gotta get busy building more brooders. DH said he is going to take 2 days off from work to help me get 3 built. Unfortunately, we have to move the ducks to complete it all and I don't have the duck pens ready!

Yeah Nicole does not like the way a muscovy looks. I read somewhere they are good eats LOL. She did say yours are not as ugly as she thought muscovies were gonna be. So I guess you have cute ones!

Before I bought any in Landrum I asked about the chances of getting a roo .... wondered if I should get more than 3 SLW in case they were all roos..........the girl said they are all supposed to be pullets.

You have how many coming from hatcheries!!??
