Jackie, your DH is cringing every time you go to someone's house! He is always afraid of what you will bring home!

She needs a bigger way to transport them! All she had was a little ole cat carrier and we jammed three chickens in there. The way my kids were grabbing them for her, I'm sure we could have loaded her up!

Haha that's why I bring my DH to go chicken shopping when I can. That way I can tell him 'see, aren't you glad we just have 10, 12, 14 etc'. So that way someone always has more than us (me)!

Yes, must obtain larger transportation methods for chickens. They were good though; I played them banjo music the whole way home. I let the frizzles and sizzles see them first and one of the sizzles was not happy about it at all. Made the buff brahma nearly jump out of her skin. No harm, the enw oens are in their own coop to calm down for a bit.

Y'all need to come to the chicken chat at Furman!

Did I tell you that I was pre-vet my freshman year at UGA? Wanted to do large animal and breed bucking bulls with my uncle in Dodge City, Kansas. Dang organic chemistry kicked my butt though. I'll need to find the picture of me bringing a baby pig into my grandma's house in Iowa; y'all would love that

HORSE UPDATE:

We have never had a horse collick and Pop (is in his 70s) & has had horses his whole life so this had him really worried too!
DH & his brother walked her for over 3 hours non-stop until the vet could get there!

The vet said taking everything into consideration, the usual treatment of tube & mineral oil would not work. It was not making it far enough to come out the back end, so the oil would do no good, or something along those lines.... and since horses don't throw up - we drained a lot out with the tube.

She is feeling better, but not where she should be. After the first shot, Vet said she should have been back to normal within couple of hours. she wasn't & still isn't herself but is feeling better - eating grass & hay, but not much feed.

Jackie, donkeys are very noisy. Not all the time but when they're hungry, saying hi, want attention, arguing.... I love it though! Maybe minis are not quite as loud. I love it when I'm on the phone outside and they start up. The person always pauses and sometimes they say something and sometimes not. But I know they're thinking, What in the world? I usually just say, "The donkeys say hi."
