Hi Eric! I was just on here trying to read all these posts I have missed! You all have been busy! I have been working getting the garden ready and watching the babies grow up...also picked up some BCM and EE layers a couple days ago and am enjoying the eggs already!

Sorry to hear about the colicing horse...been there done that too many times but sure am glad things worked out.

This time next year we should have a baby llama scampering around here....and I have no idea what I am going to do with it

Yancy the JG babies are too cute! I bet you have them spoiled. Speaking of which I had my 2 and 1/2 month frizzle babies helping me in the flower beds...they were scratching along right with me and one got a cricket I turned up...I ended up laughing at them more then weeding!

Packing the horse trailer to go horse camping this weekend...hope the weather holds.

Nadine I am loving your babies more each day...you just have to love a red frizzle!

I hope it does not rain again today! I need to move some chickies out of the basement brooder into a little tractor thingy outside.

DH is wanting me to wait until April before I can go to Susanne's for some birds, & Joy's for some eggs.

I think it will be sooner.

Ha! Don't make him upset! But you can come anytime.

I'm getting three lav silkies today in the mail from Bren's in Texas. I can't wait! And tomorrow I'm getting 14 silkies from Bobbi Porto. I think I'm done for awhile. I just need to be patient and let everything grow up so I can hatch my own chicks!

Looks like a perfect weekend ahead!

Got to the farm today with my new lav silkies! They are so cute. Almost stepped on a little black/lav split curled up in a ball in the middle of the run. Its wry neck (which it had as a baby and has been gone for 4 months) is back. It cannot keep its neck straight or turn its head over. I know it needed to be put down but I just couldn't do it. Unfortunately my husband is in Washington DC this week.

I put it in a box with food and water and put it in an empty coop. I'm really hoping nature takes its course tonight. It didn't seem in pain. I need to get tougher. I tried to talk myself into for about an hour but I failed.

Susanne, have you tried vitamin E for the wry neck? I give vit E to all my Silkies because they need more of the vitamin and also they should not have very much corn. they do not digest it as well as other chickens and it can cause some health problems.

Yes, yes, I am always good at giving out advice AFTER something happens. I just never remember until then!

I think we posted close to the same time lol

I lost a little grey chick today.....Todd found it in the pen with the bigger silkies - it had been squeezing through fencing and I catch it over there about every other day........this time was too late... one of the bigger ones killed it.

Todd was being nice and feeding my chickens while I was gone to take kiddo to class!

Awww.... sorry about your chick.

I gave this chicken PolyVisol vitamins when it was a baby and had wry neck. I had about 6 silkies in that hatch that had it. Four died then. Two got better. One of those two died about a month ago after it got wry neck again. This is the second. I just think there's something wrong with it that can't be fixed.

Amy, do you put Vitamin E in their food?
