She's pretty, Janelle. Is that one you got from me? Although I thought you got Olive Eggers from me. My Olive Eggers are clean faced. I have had clean faced EE's, too though. I don;t care what they look like as long as they lay pretty eggs. Saying that, I have 2 EE's that lay brown eggs. Doesn't matter to me, I still love them. Though Sissy is a bit nuts, she is pretty and I let her have her way most of the time.

No, I got an ee and an oe. From you. The oe was the mom of all the cochin mixes I sold recently. I sold her to a very nice pet home a while back....they even bought her saddle to go with her.

I still have the ee of the pair. She has a bad eye so she will stay here permanently. She lays a nice green egg.

This girl I got from a different amy. She looks like a pea combed wellie mix but lays a blue egg. VERY friendly hen. She doesn't want to be picked up but comes RUNNING for treats.

Are you prepared to give up all cute mottled cochins? I am going to stuff my pockets with chicks if need be.

Ha! Ha! The only Mottled chicks I have are boys!
I accidentally hurt the toe on one of the little boys and have made him totally rotten by making it up to him. It was only bruised for a few days but it was my stupid fault and that is why I now have a new screen door. I did not realize I had trapped him by his toe in the old one and he laid there most of the day. I massaged it and kissed it and gave him lots of meal worms. He is a Momma's boy now. Those Mottleds are sure sweeties.

My grass is so tall that you won't be able to see anything else!

Good thing the Cochins are short!

Didn't you say you had a cute mottled girl for me? I think you did!

I'm completing my downsizing with all the drop offs this weekend....down to 21 adult chickens. That includes 14 large fowl and 7 bantams (my mottled flock). Only 14 birds loose in the yard, a gimpy in a pen and the mottleds in a pen. Not to mention all the broodies that are separate. Will only have a dozen birds loose after this weekend.

Yes, I have held this Mottled girl for you. Wasn't easy! Everyone wants the Mottleds! They are terrific.

I had purchased another hen from Judy Gantt but not long after coming here she died. I was afraid I was going to lose the roo I got from her too but he pulled through. The other 2 hens started dragging but then I realized one was going broody and the other molting.

For some reason I just do not have many Mottled roos. Must be the girls love me enough to give me mostly girls. Thank goodness. I wish I could hatch more but I only have so much room. Two of the girls are on eggs now so there will be more babies to grow up in the tractor with them.

We'll look around for a Mottled roo that you may like but I think I only have 2. However, with all my birds I could be over looking them but I doubt it. I seem to know a lot of what I have and what I don't unless in baby chicks.

only place I see them is at the quail. Those quail are messy & gross. I am starting to dislike them. Sometimes flies get to the duck pens & ducks eat them.

Look forward to hearing what others do for fly problems!

I bet Joy's guineas eat them..........

The guineas do eat them but apparently I don't have enough guineas. The flies are awful now that the ground is wet, they are everywhere. The muscovy ducks REALLY feast on flies but I don't have any free ranging in the yard yet. I'm still growing my own flock of them.
