Thanks RedBug but I have one rooster(which I really didn't want but love him now)! Just wondering are polish roosters as nice as the hens? I'm new to the chicken world and very new to having Polish chicks.

Moonchild, my polish roos are just as sweet as the hens (maybe sweeter). They are the first to come up to me and greet me when I go to their yard. I can just scoop them up and hold them and pet them. I gave one extra roo to a friend of mine and he is her pet now. She can walk in and pick him up and he seems to enjoy being held. Hope you have a sweet roo too.

That is what was happening with the ducks! I would get about half to go up and as soon as I open the door for the other half the first group comes stampeding out! Geez! Didn't they know that Dorothy and Toto just came buzzing by on the wind????
The wind was so fierce that it picked up the plywood sheets off the trampoline and sailed them over into the brush pile! I am never going to get them cut and painted.

It is raining here this morning and all my shoes are soaked. I really don't want to complain about rain when we need it for the summer months but gosh, my feet are not happy. It is just too hot for my boots but I may have to wear them to make rounds again in a few minutes. My problem with those is I step on babies on the brooder room floor.

OK a 24hr UPDATE...Well the Chick is doing great!!! She's walking and even running with the others
yippiechickie.gif
She is about 70% better so 30% more to go

and I'm so Happy!!! And I found out you can buy capsules of selenium and add it to their food. But the injection works alot faster! SO if she gets 100% better then remember to help the chicks with the Wonky Leg!!!!

OK 48hr Update and NaddyBlue is about 95% Better! Pictures to provide it plus the others in my MiniFlock!!!

NaddyBlue actual running and scratching around with all the other girls...she's so much better.

Sorrry to bore ya with all the pics, but I do love my BigFlock and MiniFlock!!

Yancy, if I sold you the Lucy, the SS I am so sorry. She is an EE! She isn't speckled and her legs are green or dark colored. I think she has a flat comb that will probably pea up.

Awww, you set her egg. I can't imagine on your big pond area where in the deep grass she would put her eggs.

I tried to ask my friend last night about the crates but that storm blew in and I had to get off the phone to put up chicks. I'll call her back today after she goes to the Dr. and ask for the address or directions to the man's house.

Yea we did get it again in Simpsonville!!! This wind is really freakin me out I checked the weather and we were suppose to be ok till about 8, well it was right around 7:00 when it creeped up on us and as soon as the clouds made it go dark the wind started howling. It threw our basketball hoop over and missed my bedroom window by inches. I didn't have any time to put the chickens into their cages before it hit. I just scooped them up and brought them in doors until it passed... I was getting hit in the face with flying branches whirling around in my yard

Atleast the babies were all safe trying to get them to sit still in the house was the hard part. Once the wind stopped I brought them 1 by 1 back out to their cages except for 1~ Daisy.... my little whistler~ She hopped up on the table and looked so comfortable and cuddly so I put her in the little half size box and sat her on the night stand by my bed. I even laid a pillow leaning against the box and she stretched her head out and rested on the pillow

She was so sweet! With much surprise my son woke up with a chicken sitting on his head

it took me almost an hour to get everyone in before the storm hit...

. then within 3 min of getting the latch on the cage ( yea its a long wire cage with a full length roost in it.. < used to be a show cage for cats> then the cages are inside a 4x10 dog run that's covered with a tarp , one side has shading material < was for gardens i think> and the other side has a big cypress tree for blocking the storms) any way I got the latch on the cage and all hell broke loose.. they were happy then. silly birds are just like kids.. you cant tell them anything..

looks like were in for it again today and tonight.. one storm came thru all ready this am but just light wind and alot of noise.. but looks like on radar were gonna have another big'en....
