Your last picture.......she may be a mix, but she looks to be silver partridge. Although she has what appears to be some red leakage. Some silkie breeders say that is the same as gray....but I have been breeding them for over a yr and they aren't

All of mine did have a lavender daddy who also carried the partridge gene.

Have you had silver partridge and grey as chicks? What did they look like? I had this cutie hatch last week and it's a silver color with partridge. Someone said it might be a splash but my splash have never had stripes.

It came from my flock but I'm not sure what coop! I also had this one hatch. It's white with partridge stripes. And a black dot on the back of the neck!

Susanne, I can understand how easy it would be to get them mixed up!! I really loved the splashes! They are just beautiful.
Our little Lucy seemed to have the Silkie look down today. I told Lou Ann she was even strutting around like a Silkie!

There aren't any processing places that take chickens in the area that I know of. So many folks have hunted around for one but they won't do chickens for some reason.

DH and I put 7 in the fridge this morning. Tomorrow we will bag them and put in the freezer. One was the EE roo that lunged at my face after he grew up so loving and sweet. Beautiful boy! But he is no longer. He had a huge breast and legs! Yum. The bantam Cochins were nothing next to him, of course.

We still have about 12, that I can think of, that have to go. Maybe I can let everyone know next week when we are going to do them and have a get together. Of course, we do it around 8 am and some people get queasy that early in the morning. And we do not take off feathers or skin. It is breast and leg quarters.

I love all the photos of everyone's babies! They are so beautiful!
I just want to grab them up and hug and kiss them all.

You all think I am weird, eh? First I talk about loving them and then putting them in the freezer.
I do love them! But I have to face the fact that I can't keep everything and roos are hard to place.

Ok guys. We only have a little while to go and the voting is over. We are back in 2nd place. Please vote for Elvis. We want a win for SC. Several of us have a hand in him, and we all want to win. Just go under the online poultry show. Find the thread for the blue bash and vote. Thanks a million.
