I bet she is miserable! I hope things get better soon!

Need me to do anything?

Thanks, sweetie!

I think I have it all together except for my brains!

Wow, thanks to EVERYONE! I just read all the posts and appreciate all the prayers and well wishes.

Leah says Thank You to everyone, too. She is feeling much better today and hopes to improve a lot more.

She is scheduled for a recheck so they can make sure her lungs are clearing up and this won't be a life long battle with asthma.

Right now she is sitting on the couch with a few piggies, petting and loving on them. If she gets worse in a bit we will know that is her problem. She would hate to give up her TV buddies! She used to let them help with homework but she actually did have to tell the teacher a few times that her pet ate her homework!

Oh, no! I had pneumonia in 2008 and spent 10 days in the hospital. Ended up having chest surgery with a lovely chest tube for several days. It can get bad so please monitor if she's not getting better. I was home on antibiotics and just getting worse and worse. My doctor told me it would take a few days. If my brother-in-law, the surgeon, hadn't come over and taken me immediately to the ER, I might not have made it. I was that sick. But I had a fever so I'm hoping she doesn't have such a bad case.

Hope she gets better soon!

I lost 2 weeks of my life to pneumonia, don't remember a thing in Critical care the whole time.. and it came on fast went to work fine. by 10 am call husband to come get me and take me to er by 5pm I was in ICU, my lungs still aren't right from the damage. watch her close and I hate to say it but... might be time to thin out the Guinea pigs.. thier dander and dust cant help..
good luck my prayers and thought are for her and you as well..

Yep. My doctors said more and more people are getting this kind of virulent pneumonia. I don't smoke and am healthy. They had no idea why I got so sick. My body was wracked by infection and they couldn't break it for six days. Frightening! I also have a lot of scar tissue on my left lung from the surgery and infection. Stinks.

Amy Nadine, I hope she's feeling better! She (and you!) are on my prayer list.

Sorry that the steam didn't work Amy - I should have told you that if it didn't work to have her stick her head in the freezer. Just the change in temp seems to help sometimes. I hope she is feeling better. So Noah isn't feeling any better and then guess what happens .... Jonah starts running a fever, 102 degrees. It's gonna be a long week.

On a good note, I've had 2 occasions to feel honored this week. I love to get updates from customers, someone emailed to let me know how happy they are with my birds. AND one of my Mille Fleur D'Uccle hens will be shown in the Simpsonville Fair this weekend. I'm so proud, can't wait to hear how she does. If anyone is out that way stop by around 1:00 and sneak a peak at my hen. Secondly, and this one will give you all a chuckle, I've been asked to attend a "WannabeaFarmer" dinner this Saturday.....as an "EXPERT" farmer to answer questions!!

I did tell them that I do not hardly qualify as an expert. I am honored to have been asked, hopefully I can help someone. Goodness knows most of my knowledge has come the hard way.

Hope you're all having a good day and staying healthy!

You are an expert in the area of birds. That's so cool!

Here's a mystery. When we were treating everyone on Saturday, I took on of my Wheaten Marans hens out of their coop and put her with my layers. She just didn't have enough good qualities to stay in the breeding program. Today she's back with the Wheatens. I have no idea how she would escape an enclosed run and get into another run that have hardwire all the way around them and a screened door. I just asked my husband and he said he didn't do it. The coop I moved her to is three coops away from where she was. How on earth did she get back there? I'm baffled.

I just found one of my EE hens dead. Must be this stinking heat. Friday and the cooler temps cannot get here quick enough!

Sorry about your hen. I've had that happen with the moving birds and then they mysteriously go back to where they came from.

She missed her family and was determined to get back home I guess. I would bet if you move her again, the same thing will happen again. These birds are so entertaining!
