That is too funny - sounds exactly like something I would have done as a kid too.

So,today I found one of my OEGB hen sitting on a nest of 7 eggs. There are no roosters out, but 5 of the eggs are fertile. Maybe she got in the run (it doesn't have a top, and she's a fair flyer) with the polish rooster, then got out to lay eggs

it'll be interesting to see what hatches, as the polish is a standard and she is a bantam...We're making mutants!

My husband and I went to Susanne's Farm yesterday to purchase some silkie babies. Susanne handed my husband this pretty silkie to hold. He fell in love instantly. The silkie just sit in his
arms so peaceful like and he melted. On the way home he talked about just building me just a silkie coop. Thanks Susanne you are a good sales person.

LOL, Roohen. So that has me thinking, How can you tell the difference from a RooHen and HenSter? Anyone contacted APA for a standard? hehehe

Hope everyone is having a great weekend. I'm so happy I got to stay home all day today.

Question if that's OK. Just got my first Purina coupons by email. Will Ace hardware take this or is it only Tractor Supply good to honor these 3 dollar coupons? Donald

A RooHen is a Rooster that lays an egg. A HenSter is pullet that that secretly goes in the coop after the hens have laid and sits on them to pretend "he" is "one of the girls". That is, until he gets caught peeing standing up.

OMG! Yancy! That is a great new egg color for you! How wonderful to "spice" up your egg carton. I know you will love collecting eggs even more now.

I don't see the "kids" in the photo. Totally amazing. They are getting too independent for their own good. I do see a flash of Bleu in the background though. He is stalking you!

Wow, that photo of "Millie" turned out great! You were right. She is a really awesome bird.

But I love all the d'Uccles. I didn't think I would love to cuddle anything more than my Cochins but these little buggers have certainly stolen my heart. I hope you decide they may be right for you as your next bird....next year.

And don't forget to think about meal worms. Super simple and your birds will love you in the winter for it. The frass is excellent fertilizer for your plants, too.

Miss Jackie, she didn't crow on the way home, did she?

I should have just given you one of the "new" ones! We know those are girls but I also have more growing up, too. I hope.

It was so great to see both of you again today. I love you guys. I am glad you all finally got to meet. Ya'll are super to be around. But who doesn't love their chicken friends.

Off to check on the game before hitting the showers. Nite-nite!

After a LONG day it is soo nice to log on and get a good laugh...roohen...and then be teased by a pic of the Mille....Which is what i fell in love with at the 4H sale but wasnt being sold...my next goal!!!
