South Carolina

I buy chick starter and chicken layer mash. Their starter is only about 21% and the layer is 16 or 17%. Those are fine for certain breeds. I buy Southern States game bird starter (or maybe it is sporting bird) up in Landrum at The Hay Rack. It is 27% protein.
I feed the keets and the Marans the higher protein the first part of their life. I showed Yancy and Jackie what a Marans looks like if it is not fed a higher protein, though he is no more now. We had to take him out, bless his little heart.

NellaBean,
I love that white trio but I have too many extra roos right now or I would take them. They are precious. I would love to cross a white girl with my Gold Neck to soften the colors even knowing it would be a crossbreed. And to cross a girl with one of the Porcelains would really be gorgeous. Not a showable color but still really pretty. I wonder if white in d'Uccles is recessive?

Are you looking for pix of the d'uccles or silkies?

I have some eggs available. When you come up this week you can get some if you would like any of my breeds that are laying. Look at my website and see if there is something that catches your eye. I can let you know if that breed is laying right now. I can collect from the Silkies, if you want me to.
