Sorry to hear about that. When one door is closed, another is opened somewhere.

Well I learnt 2 important things:

1. If your female bird is less than a year old she is a pullet NOt a hen. I entered her as a hen and got 4th. If she'd been entered as a pullet she'd have probably won.

2. Light colored birds are a pain in the rectum to keep clean, therefore only show dark colors!!! lol

But from all of this I am planning to go to Newport........

Susanne,
that is such a bummer! I know this was really exciting to think about and to have someone do that to you is just mean and crazy! I don't understand some people at all. I know that you all have been wanting to get started on building that house for a long while. I am sorry but know that you will get something sold and finally have your dream! Hopefully, something will come along and you will still get to spend Christmas in the trailer!

Gavin! That is funny about the dark birds! But so wonderful that you did well in your first show! It is always a learning experience and the only way now you can go is UP!

When is Newport? That sounds really terrific!

I hope you will be coming down to the Clemson SC show next month. It is all bantams so your Silkie will fit right in!

Dixiebeast!!!!!
My white pullet, Bride, laid her first egg today!!

My little girl is growing up.

It was a decent sized egg, too. I was amazed that her first egg was the size of my Silkies eggs. She is so small and I did not think she could lay an egg that size. But it was so adorable and I told her how proud I was of her.
DH wanted me to set it but I think I have enough for the winter for now to raise. There are still some other eggs in my bator that need to hatch and I am not much for setting pullet eggs.

I Dare Anyone to tell me these ain't some purdy cute Chicks!!!!!
