Ok experienced chicken friends...I have a BLRW roo named Tiger and he's beginning to live up to his name. He bit the crap out of me tonight when I was trying to pick up one of the hens in his coop. This is the 2nd time he's acted aggressive towards me. After he bit me the only thing I could think of to do was take my flipflop off and hit him over the head with it. Then he lunged at me again..so I smacked him again. Good lorddd! My other roo has never acted like this. He's still really young..7 months old. Will he mellow out??? I couldnt believe it when he bit me! It broke the skin! gahhhh...

I seriously am thinking if this continues he's gonna be the first roo I process and turn into chicken pot pie!

I would not keep him if it lasted more than a few days. I have no time or patience for a mean and aggressive roo. Frightens everyone... people and chickens!

Sounds like roo stew time.

Bless your heart! My dear sweet sister-in-law did that in the hospital while my brother was going downhill with cancer and my darling daughter worked emergency surgery on it in the hospital room with a hairdryer...saved it for a couple days but...it went kapoof too!

remove the sim card and place it in a ziplock bag of rice (to draw out the moisture). try a hair dryer too. I dropped my phone in the tub twice, and it still worked.

How many servings of rice will that make??? And how long until done? Oh I entertain me!

Grrrr......guess it doesn't pay to come on here and leave a wise crack about rice and a cell phone...cuz then the need to really come here to ask a question comes about and the person who knows the answer is either the tinkle covered cell phone lady or the soak the pee phone in rice lady. (which...by the way....the rice trick does work but takes a few days!)

Ok....the wife has been collecting the eggs and she showed me a brown egg with dark brown spots. I told her it came from the spotted chicken...which didn't fly well. My thought is it came from an araucana. Any help here? She showed me a second one that looked more to be a bad shell, in that the egg was brown, but was blotchy. Not as pronounced with the dark "freckles."

I am kindly awaiting any response along with any due wise cracks. I first got my girls in mid April of 2011, so now that they are laying I am trying to match the chicken to the egg. Seems no matter what the shell looks like.....they taste good mixed in with grits bacon and toast!!!!
