Looks like something pulled out a couple of handfuls. Are there any places where a raccoon could reach in a grab a chicken?

Well my coop is open and the door has been open for months. Never had a predator problem. Anything could have walked inside their house and attacked them. But why wouldn't they be physically injured???

That's exactly what I saw in my white silkie pen on Sunday. Except a big tuft was in the door and she was gone. Probably something reached in (a coon most likely) and was grabbing what it could.

Lark, I have had stray dogs get my birds here and pull out gobs of feathers and not hurt the bird as long as it does not get a good bite. It could have been a number of things that tried to get them including a raccoon. You might want to close them up at night for a few days if you can.

I see a lot of raccoons crossing streets when I drive through neighborhoods at night. They come out looking for things like cat food left out on peoples back porch, etc. Raccoon are bad because if they find a food source they stick with it until something convinces them not to or it is depleted.

I know!!! He hangs out with his roral purple lady friend and they carry on all day together, much to the annoyment of the chickens.

Well, I'm 11 weeks today, ultrasound next week! I got sick at the movies on Sunday (random), and apaprently my signature pregnancy move is to yak in the front yard. So classy. I'm craving milk!!!! And ginger salad dressing. And Publix subs. And I can't eat eggs right now!!! I'm totally grossed out by the texture. So weird.

I had a dream that I coudl see my baby at 6 months old and she had on little white tights and a red dress and was playin with blocks on the living room floor. Of course she was the most beautiful child I have ever seen in my life
