DH fried some up with our regular LF roos and I thought it was nasty but he liked it. Silkie soup would be better. Many Asian recipes use Silkie meat. It is interesting to process one because the skin, meat and bones are all black or dark gray.

Great pics! I think Guineas are such fabulously cool-looking birds! I'd have a flock of them here, but I can't stand the noises they make.

After a while you really do not notice the noise! I hear mine outside right now disturbed by something though--Oh, I guess I do hear the noise still....

DH was outside the other day, all four of mine were yelling at him.

The noise was deafening & was driving him crazy. He asked if it bothered me and I looked at him with a straight face and said "What noise?"

What kind of dog is that in the background? I like him and am trying to decide on a yard dog to help with predators or at least bark and NOT eat the chickens!

My lab is good with the chickens. Of course, I think she would bite someone in a second, too, if they came into her yard. She been loose and running around the yard a lot and never bothered any of the chickens or turkeys or guineas. Does not even chase them.

Jackie, we need to get him a coral blue hen! We will work on that in 2012!

How are you feeling!! Are you able to eat? What stuff are craving? I soo loved Mexican food when I was pregnant!

I know!!! He hangs out with his roral purple lady friend and they carry on all day together, much to the annoyment of the chickens.

Well, I'm 11 weeks today, ultrasound next week! I got sick at the movies on Sunday (random), and apaprently my signature pregnancy move is to yak in the front yard. So classy. I'm craving milk!!!! And ginger salad dressing. And Publix subs. And I can't eat eggs right now!!! I'm totally grossed out by the texture. So weird.

I had a dream that I coudl see my baby at 6 months old and she had on little white tights and a red dress and was playin with blocks on the living room floor. Of course she was the most beautiful child I have ever seen in my life

Nothing I want to eat. I remember someone on BYC trying it cause I saw the picture they posted of it.

A silkie has dark skin, meat, and bones, and I have seen a plucked one (thanks to DD's best friend & the internet

Mean girls left it pulled up on the computer for me to see

Oh, Jackie! It is so neat to be able to hear your experiences while being preggers. I love it!
I was lucky to only be sick one time and my co workers were so freaked (because I am never sick!) they bought me a pregnancy test. I had been married for 14 years so we figured we would never be blessed. I was not ever sick after that. But true to form, my child was bald for the first year of her life so I am guessing your baby will have hair.

Can't wait for the ultrasound!

You need to be drinking farm fresh milk! I wish you lived closer. You can always go over to Eclectic Sky and get the farm fresh milk from Mabry Dairy. That store is close to you off White Horse Road on Sulfer Springs Rd. It is much better for you and the baby than old nasty store bought stuff. (I am so prejudiced)
At least you aren't craving cookies. Man, chocolate chip cookies and fresh donuts were my Saturday night special. Poor hubby ran out almost every Sat. night for me!

I love your dream. So the baby is a girl? You should be able to tell. And she sounds adorable!

How about some rats? But I would think they would go after meat. Maybe a shy kitty?
I am still thinking they are blowing feathers when they sleep. Buy some koi food. (Do I sound like a broken record?
