Well since we're talking guns I have a funny story to share. This will give you an idea of the kind of things that happen to me. Years ago, before I had kids, I was going to school at night and decided I wanted a gun to carry in the car with me. I told my husband to get me a small handgun for Valentines Day (I'm not big on jewelry).

Anyway, believe it or not he actually did as I asked for once and found me sweet little pearl handled pistol (it'll fit in my pocket). Now here's the funny part, he came home with the gun and went straight upstairs without saying a word. I was in the kitchen cooking dinner and wondering what was wrong with him when I hear a gunshot upstairs. You can imagine what I was thinking, not sure if I wanted to go up and see what happened or not. He had decided to "try it out" before giving it to me by loading it. He accidentally shot a hole right through the bathroom wall, mirror and all. Still have a hole in my bathroom mirror. I know what size hole I could put in somebody though. He's not allowed to handle guns in the house anymore. All guns are unloaded outside.

It is a very funny sound right now but still I know he is trying. With 5 boys and 2 girls I am sure it won't take long for another to try.

And I have Mille Fleur d'Uccle eggs hatching next week. So far 7 of the 9 have developed from eggs shipped to me.

Yancy, you should put one of the birds on the Christmas tree for the first day of Christmas photo op!

We sure do have the mud too. But today looks nice and sunny so it should dry up nicely. I lost a Lavender Ameraucana girl yesterday. Just dead in the run. No sign of trauma. I hate when stuff like that happens! Just was covered in poop and mud (everyone was walking on her) so it was hard to do too much of an inspection. Everyone else looks fine.

I'm trying hard to talk my husband into a special Christmas present. If I do, I'll post pictures!

Funny because no one got hurt!
My brother shot himself in the foot when he was in the Coast Guard. He was loading his gun but I have never understood how it went off and have no idea what kind it was. It did get him relieved of duty.

I'm scared of guns. I've never handled one. I'm hoping this class will help. I have plenty of room to practice out here! My husband has a rifle and has been target practicing on a bag of shavings. I need them now though. He'll have to find something else!
