I hadn't thought about another Cochin roo since I only have her now, but it might be nice. When you get him back pm me and I will see what I have in birds and maybe I can take him. Thanks.

Well, if Forrest keeps dominating him she may have to get a "stronger" male to make her lay fertile eggs. I know Kimberly and Nicole are wanting babies (Okay, Nicole resists but she rally wants them!). Forrest is just a bit on the spoiled side. She may be little but she has a big attitude!
I will let you know about him. He is a handsome dude. I also have a few of his brothers growing up but can't tell yet just how typy they will be. I plan to keep a few ladies for my Frizzle project, too. They do make gorgeous pets. And Ranger will get a chance with one, too.
I swear, my farm has turned mostly into bantam Cochin-ville!

Your bantam cochin-ville is spilling over to my farm now!! The frizzle is just hilarious and one of the greys is a nosy busy body while the other one is soo calm and still I sometimes think something is wrong until food time!!!I think she is just a quiet lil bird because I find nothing wrong and she eats well, just calm and quiet!!LOL Are those considered a lav or a blue or just grey?? And I dont even want to talk about how perfectly awsome the 2 smooth frizzs I hatched from you look!! SOO round with super leg feathering! The mottled are in that awkward stage so its hard to tell with them!!

They are considered blue, if I remember them correctly. I haven't anything with lav in it except for my Ameraucanas.
I am glad you like the smooth Frizzles. That is why I breed for type. Even when not Frizzled they are still super birds! And with Frizzles I can breed lots of neat colors! If it isn't typy, it doesn't stay in my breeding pens.

Have you seen my new Marvin? I hatched him out and raised him from my breeding program. Though I do not care for his color, his type is fantastic! Ignore the hen head behind him. She is forever trying to mess up his photo shoots.

I LOVE his color...but as you know I like the blue/greys...esp the darker!!

Lou Ann sent me a message yesterday that one of the Buff Orps just sat down and let her pet her. She then did the same thing later for her son. So, we now have one squatting chicken and its the one that I thought would lay later than the others. They DO like to confuse us. I will try to go get some pictures in the midst of my day today. I have some green peas for them, which I found out they LOVE!

Forrest needs to learn who does what in that relationship.

She was treating him like he was a hen today! At feeding time, she scratched and tried to call him to eat!!
I am telling you she is gender confused!

Sounds like the typical wife.....always having to show the man what to do!

BTW...I ask this because I had my 2 Comet hens with my Ameraucauna Roo (only because there was no where else to put them) for a while and my DD set eggs twice with no "action" what-so-ever in the eggs...

Comets are hybrids which means they will not breed true. They are cross bred birds. The golden comet is a cross between a white rock female and a new hampshire male. There are several ways to get a red sexlink chicken. You can use a white leghorn x rhode island red, rhode island whites are sometimes used. You can put any rooster with your comets and hatch chicks but they will be barnyard mutts, which aren't bad they just won't be comets.

Thanks Joycats! I knew they were a little different...haha. Now I know where they came from
