Already contacted them but they have not responded.
I have contacted a few folks recently wanting to place LGDs but no one responds. I don't think they want their dogs to go to a home where they actually have to work. LOL

You will love her! Meg says that our doxie replaced her when she went to college. She didn't replace her, she just helped fill the empty spot a little (and she was the second doxie we have had). If I have my way about it, we will never be without a dachshund in the house. If you want to learn a lot about them, and some great people (online, at least), check out www.wienerwritings. com. It's an awesome forum.

Here's my Schatzi. She was this year's Christmas card.

That's good to know. As babies, they looked just alike. When I posted a picture on her, thinking something was wrong with Lacey's comb, someone commented that Kacey had the normal comb, it was Cagney that did not have the one that usually seen on a SLW. I will have to find a picture of her leg sometime and post it. The other thing about these two- Lacey, who has more white on her head, has a white butt. Cagney, has a little more black on her head and a dark butt. I think Gid knew we were getting old and needed help telling them apart!

So happy for your egg and eggs-to-come! Has the Ameraucana laid yet? How old is she now?

Harriet isn't laying yet, but was the first one interested in the nestboxes. This evening she started squatting when Lou Ann went to pet her. She was twenty-eight weeks old yesterday. That is four out of seven squatters now. And we had another egg today! It looked just like yesterday's egg, so was most likely from Nina again. I can't wait to get one from the Maran or from the Ameraucana. I get to check the nestbox tomorrow since I get off at 1:00. I would love to find a variety in there!

Here is a close-up of her from yesterday. She still has her cross-beak, but it hasn't gotten any worse and she does really well. We have some food in a regular bowl that she always eats from.

This was a couple of weeks ago. She was playing Queen of the Hill. She loves to do that!

I might just have good chicken news!

My large fowl might start laying again soon. Today I went outside to feed them and my barred rock who used to lay frequently did the "squat". They've been free ranging for about 4 days and eating a mixture of fish food and their regular chicken food. (and whatever they find in my backyard)

Got the ultrasound pics yesterday!!!!!And holy cow it's a boy! Still can't believe how, er, much you can see at 12 weeks. Whit Cleveland Blackwell is measuring 13 weeks though so my due date is July 4th. Oh geeze.

Always loved when it was time to get ultrasounds done for all 4 of mine. Thankfully, God gave me what I asked for each time

That lovely face is why we went to look at Roxy. She licked Leah's chin when she was holding her and that sealed the deal. She also has become quite the protector of Leah. If me or DH gets near her she will bark ferociously. All 6 lbs of tiger!

But hey, we don't mind. After all there are crowing roosters inside our house, how can a barking peanut be any worse?
