You and me both! I just started a fire in the fireplace. It will be nice to sit next to DH after dinner and cuddle on the couch in front of the fireplace and see who passes out, I mean stays up the latest

ETA: Took my final and finished another colleg course today. That's one more down and only 22 more to go until graduation

Awesome! I start 3 more on thursday..

After that I'll have 22 left as well! Unfortuately since I'm doing the night program, certain classes are only offered during certain times...so it'll probably take me another 2 1/2 or 3 years to finish

BOO! I will be SO extremely excited when I'm done though!

I can relate to your schedul! My classes too are at night, but sometimes I get to take one online which helps move things along a tiny bit. Yesterday it just hit me that I was one class away from the halfway point and I finally felt like I was making headway.

So sorry to read about your losses Susanne and Kimberly

Exactly. We have all been there and continue to be there. There are times when it just seems like nothing goes right. You'll figure it out!

Hopefully this will be a better morning for the chicks. I think we adjusted the shed where the little ones are and I hope it's better in there this morning. Losing some is just part of it. Luckily I have a lot of chicks and none of my favorites died. My two goats that I thought were going to give birth on Christmas are still pregnant! I can't believe it. I was sure they would give birth last night in the blasted cold.

I'm going to wait a bit before I head out and address the waterers. I hope it warms up over freezing quickly!

Sounds sweet with hubby! My desk top and screensaver are fireplaces right now because I want to feel the warmth in my bones and only a fireplace seems to be able to do that. Well, a real one anyhow!

Congrats on finishing another course and getting that exam over with!

I talked to them and they told me someone was coming to get him this week. They said if it did not work out they would let me know but I keep hearing that and no one has yet to get back to me.
Jolie has had such fun playing with the new Doxie that I know she will enjoy another Pyr or Anatolian. I am sure I will eventually find the right one.

Our puppy is loving having a playmate. The first one we put in with him didn't like to play so we swapped. Now we have Keeper (the girl) with him and they run around all day. Too bad someone already claimed him. Hard to find a grown Pyr.

All I have to ask is....where is the warm weather??????? Brrrr!
There wasn't any use for me to pour water into the drinkers to melt ice because it was all froze by the time I finished! They did get a little drink so now I am headed back out to do more. It is too cold to stay out for long!
On a good note, everyone is alive and accounted for after getting down to 18 last night here. The brooder room thermometer said 40 this morning but everyone was fine.

My house dog is turning into a good chicken dog......and poop eater.

My Lab cannot run lose because she will bite...but she does not bother the birds at all.
My house dog is a 6 year old pit...and lordy you should hear her bark (she doesn't bark often) when the guineas get started. She knows the difference between the girls calling and the boys raising an alarm. We go outside to check the chickens and she runs around each pen checking them out. She doesn't chase the loose ones, or try to bother the others, but she does eat poop

I would say that's a GREAT dog...unless...you're in the fertilizer business!

Wish I knew how she figured it all out on her own

seems like from the beginning she knew what it meant when I said "let's go check the chickens"

She is sweet!!! Thanks for sharing pics...gotta find one of Sugar to post soon...she is actually smaller and lighter weight than any of my bantam breed birds!!!

No guarding help there...but by golly don't knock on the door before you come in to rob, maim, kill me because she will bark so ferociously!!! LOLOL

Luckily mine looks meaner than she is. She loves kids, usually. Doesn't care too much for strange men. Especially wearing hats.

I love fat dog has a deep bark

Helps when any idiot wants to knock on my door.

I hear that! I can always leave my keys in the car. Both danes sit in the front seat when I get out & it looks like they're on a road trip. They're good protection but always mess up my rear view mirror!
