I have a question...the friz I got is a roo and the 2 frizz eggs I got from you way way back are both smooth and roos...do I cross my frizzed roo with any cochin to get some smooth and frizz?? The mottleds are a pair it looks like and the blues are a pair also I think...seems you can kinda tell early like the BLRWs??? So many of my friends want just one frizz as a pet,he is such a ham,he runs with his wings out playing superman and he is really social!!

Yes, cross your smooth feathered birds to your Frizzled feathered birds and you will get 50% of each, supposedly. It can go more or less. I was getting 80% at one point in Sizzles and Frizzles. I have never had a hatch of absolutely no Frizzles.

Here is one of Marvin's daughter's. He was such an awesome typy Frizzle roo that I hope his kids are going to be just as nice.
I think I will put Cowboy in my Frizzle girl pen tomorrow since they all want to go broody. This will get them off the nest and he will get them back in gear. Talk about some beautiful chicks! OMG, I can't wait to see his kids from those girls!
Just what to do with Wizard now........

No, no! Just another breeding pen!

I have 2 open pens since I shipped out some birds today but I am not sure what hens to put with him. Probably just some extra project girls that are waiting for the roo that needs them. I have at least 6 of those. I just need the energy above and beyond what I do every day to rearrange some pens.

Oh, and after I told Heidi my Ameraucanas were not laying because they are too young yet, I found 9 eggs today in their coop. I suppose 6 and 7 months old was plenty old enough for them to start spitting them out. Who knew?

Oh Amy what is Wizard? TOOOooooOOO Cute!!!

Today was the day that Harriet, our sweet little squawking Ameraucana decided to lay her first egg! We now have a pretty green egg (Lou Ann says it is pretty, I've just seen the picture she sent me). If Maranda, the Cuckoo Marans, will get with the program, all seven will be laying. We are now averaging 4-5 eggs a day, so I can't complain for winter laying.
Here is today's egg collection

This is Wizard, the white dude with the black collar. Most often called a light Columbian. He has been with these Frizzle hens for quite a while now and I have hatched out numerous gorgeous babies and sold a lot of eggs from this pen.

Yay! See? Those colored egg layers decided to get with the program! I was surprised that mine decided to lay already.
Can't believe your Cuckoo isn't laying yet! She must be holding on to the golden egg........
