This is Wizard, the white dude with the black collar. Most often called a light Columbian. He has been with these Frizzle hens for quite a while now and I have hatched out numerous gorgeous babies and sold a lot of eggs from this pen.

Yay! See? Those colored egg layers decided to get with the program! I was surprised that mine decided to lay already.
Can't believe your Cuckoo isn't laying yet! She must be holding on to the golden egg........

Maranda has surprised us. She was the first to have the most growth of her combs and wattles and definitely the reddest. She also squatted first. Now, she has decided to wait before laying. Maybe she will let me find her egg on Wednesday since I am off that day and I get to be the one doing the gathering. Lou Ann was off today and had the fun of finding Harriet's egg.
Lou Ann keeps asking me why Maranda isn't laying yet, even though she is so red. I told her the same reason the Buff Orps started laying first and they were still pretty pink and didn't have their combs all the way in. It's one of those unpredictable things that keep you guessing.

I'm surprised at how big the eggs from the Orpingtons are already. The ones from the Wyandottes and from the Ameraucana are what I expected pullet eggs to be. We now have some spoiled pullets who think that anytime I come into Lou Ann's backyard or she comes out her back door, there should be treats in hand or they should be let our of their run! It sure didn't take them long to learn (or get vocal about it)!

Well, depending on how the new BYC gets up and running tomorrow I may not get on here. I really need to work on my website anyhow so I may do that. I have a lot to work on there since I haven't touched it since Christmas.

See ya'll in the new styled BYC!
