I was wondering if any one knew of a cat foster center that would take an adult cat.our cat who I got from a really bad shelter has severe food allergies. We think. It could be something in our house as well, as per our vet.we have went two years of prednisone and I just don't have the heart to watch her literally scratch herself to death anymore.she has been spayed is siamese and very loving if someone knows of a foster. She is 2 years old and always a house cat.

So glad to finally see the sun!!! And I have 10 days off, with a lot of sun in the forecast. I have a feeling that will probably change, but at least now I can dream it will be sunny next week. Maybe some of the mud in the chicken run will dry up and I will not panic so much about them getting sick from it. It's all those cocci stories I read when we first got them last summer that are doing it to me!
I have a question. Why are these girls digging so many holes in the corners of the fence? They are digging a few along the fence and some are big enough for dust bathing. Those I understand. It's the ones in the corner that are getting to be 5 and 6 inches deep that puzzle me. Lou Ann said she thinks they are trying to escape! There run is a decent size and we are going to make it even bigger. Maybe they heard us talking and are telling us to hurry up...
I'm thinking of getting some gravel to put in the holes closest to the posts this time instead of just filling them back in with dirt.
Today, I am changing the shavings in the nest boxes for them and move their outside roost to the one sunny spot in the run. Going to do some general coop cleaning over the next week. And brainstorm how to make the run less muddy.

Hello All, I'm back! Susanne that is ok about the ducks! Come to find out my best friend was visiting and she wanted them. I never thought of her as a duck person so I was very surprised. The doctors tell me that the preservatives in food is what causing all my problems. I need a spinal tap and strict no preservative diet.
Moon child, those birds are very nice. My problem with the pheasants is that they are so pretty, I think I would cry if someone ate them.

Robin, I am sorry to hear about the food. Good old USDA strikes again. Farm fresh really is the best! But gosh, it is so hard not to eat on the run. Chick Fil A is one of my favorites!

I want everyone on here to know that Samantha, aka Dixiebeast, is one of the coolest friends you could ever have.

Stopping preservatives & processed foods (hot dogs, bologna etc) will help anyone feel better. :) That is one reason we raise our own broilers now. I love chicken but meats from grocery store have preservatives. We are going to add pig & cow to the farm this year.

I told DH no going back to store meats once we do that - I have not bought chicken at the grocery store in almost 2 years.
