Wish I had one, then I could buy MORE silkies!

I say this..........but to me a REAL JOB is a paying one. I keep plenty busy - sometimes with not enough time in a day, week, or month! I have a TON of responsibilities... Some includes an almost 23 year old that does not want to drive. She CAN drive...just no license and usually does not want to think about getting one. Sometimes she does mention it though! Especially with her applying to universities now!

I am having to head to Laurens tomorrow for a short trip...got an errand to run. (SOOOOOOOOO close to Susanne's! DH would kill me for going now though)

Does anyone need anything dropped off or picked up between there and Spartanburg?

We took advantage of the beautiful weather this weekend to try and work with the dogs. This is a pic of my sweet Georgia "working", well sort of. If only I could get her to do this without being tied in the yard. I'm still hopeful that eventually she will learn that the chickens are her job, not her toys. I am learning also - it's obvious that they don't learn when they are together. They compete, they play but neither of them do what I want them to do. When we seperate them they cry, whine, bark and Georgia goes to great lengths to try and get back where Dixie is. If she can see Dixie it is better but if she cannot see her sister then she goes a little crazy. She has climbed over the 6' fence while chained in the temporary chicken yard. I'm worried she will hurt herself. Will they ever learn or am I kidding myself? They have both killed chickens and they're almost 2 years old. I've been told that Pyrs don't mature until 3 years but I've also been told that once they kill a chicken they're a lost cause. They have come a long way so I'll hold out hope.

I've heard from several people that Sebrights are mean. He's thinking about Jersey Giants or Polish at this point. I think Polish would be easy for him and a good compliment to all of our silkies. He can probably sell a couple to my silkie customers. And he'll have lots of time because we've decided to homeschool next year. I'm so excited! We're going to have so much fun. Lots of learning opportunities on the farm too! He's going to have his own little business and keep track of revenue & expenses. Figure that will count for some course of school!

And.... drum roll please... I finally convinced Cole to sell some stocks to make up the difference in our downpayment so the house is back on! Our builder was out yesterday and we changed the build spot so we have our big pond in the back. It will be so awesome! He said we should be in it by May 1st.
