OMG they are TINY and CUTE and just wait til they get big enough to sing/talk/whatever they do! I miss mine!

Mine died...so I will say, they do best around 70 degrees! (68-72) Mine did, anyway!

They need a warm brooder to start just like chicks do, but they will overheat really fast. Make sure your brooder is big enough for them to get away from the heat lamp if they need too. I always put the light on one end of a big rubbermaid box. If they're staying too far away from the light, I will turn the heat down a bit. My heat lamps have dimmer switches on them. But if they get too hot they will die really fast.

Thanks Joy and Kimberly for the advice...these are my first quail and out of 21 I have 3...some eggs are light like they didnt dev and quite a few started leaking through tiny cracks they must have got in shipping...I had 18 Cortunix and 3 button...so far 2 corts and 1 button have hatched...from what I hear they tend to hatch fast and all at once so I dont expect anymore. Good news is Shelly lives close to the show and is coming...She is bringing me some more eggs that wont have to suffer the PO!!

Now I just need Gold neck Duccles...wheaton amer hen, frizzled polish hen, maybe a new color Duccle, more cochins??,Choc and other color orphs...most of which can be in eggs form!! LOL...I was going to add BLRW and Guinea eggs but that is a trip to Amys in the planning for next week!!LOL

Man I need to rent a Suburban!!

I meant as grown quail.

As babies, I just kept them like my chicks. Actually were with silkie chicks first few days.

i am surprised Kris doesn't have someone on lookout for what she wants since she has to be at the dog show.

I keep watching for the post, but nothing yet.

DOnt worry I have thought about it, but didnt think it was fair to ask since none of them know me personally. I hate I cant go! I so need to get at least 1 pullet/hen. for the project.

Make your contact if you can... I can bring it back and leave it at amy's. Or meet you somewhere. I am picking up for Amy while I am there.
