South Carolina

i have always seen them a month or so before easter. if you call them they will let you know. keep in mind the other local feed stores too. some will even order what you want. probably have to prepay though.
or of course ther is the other option... ROADTRIP!

Well I have 17-18 week old RIR mix and some 10 week old BO mix...roo is a BLRW. The reds look like reds but have a touch of black lacing coming in with the BLRW comb...the Buffs are buff colored also looking like they may get lacing with the buff comb...really pretty...You are welcome to come pick a couple out!!

LOL. I was thinking that because i know in some places it is legal to shoot a dog attacking your livestock.. But I don't even have a gun. I'm just a city girl getting her hands dirty and loving it. My boyfriend would jump at the chance but he is in Texas until April. He had to hear about all of this through txt this morning.

Kim, you are right, I left the neighbors with a stern, "i don't want the dog in my yard again." and for now i am going to leave it at that. let them make the next move. they live too close to start a fight with them from my little .15 acre plot. Luckily i am on a corner so they are really the only neighbor I have to deal with.

As for you DixieBeast, Newberry isn't so far, If you really want to offer I would consider driving up to meet one of my New BYC friends and bring home a friend or two for my Lola. She only just started laying eggs 2 weeks ago. She's still a young'un. I was looking around Craigslist but I am only seeing chicks. And I already planned on getting chicks during chick days in 2 weeks at Tractor Supply. I also messaged the woman whom i got the chickens from to see if she would sell one more to me. but have yet to hear anything but it is still fresh.. I gotta see how things play out. But I do love a roadtrip.

Just so you know...I do have pure breeds just not any past tiny chick size and all bantams! I do have some EE chicks that are 3 weeks old!! My Amer roo has yet to do his JOB!! And my BLRW gals are not introducing into the big flock well at all...they are in chicken hospital AKA the cochin coop!! I hatched a few of the mix practicing with hatching and out of curiousity of what they would look like!!

Everyone needs to get better by Saturday! We are going to leave tomorrow night and stay somewhere close. My husband wanted to leave at 5 am on Saturday which didn't really sound very fun to me.

This way we can get there at a reasonable time and not be exhausted.

Colin has decided on his breed and he will be raising white crested black polish including frizzles. He's pretty excited. I hope he likes them!

Can't wait to see everyone at the show. Look for me! If we knew the layout, we could pick a place and time to meet up.

That is awesome about Colin and the Polish! That's what I have and DD is suppose to pick me a couple out to add to mine! I love mine. They are sweet and the "little man" really watches out for his girls but is nice to me. They are just a little flighty because of the feathering around the eyes. I hope he finds some nice ones there!

I looked ours up. It has my daughter's name listed instead of ours, I am thinking it is because she lived here when she did her car registration and car tax for the first time. The picture they have of our house is less than four year old since it doesn't show the swing set that was here when we moved in. Now, to figure out how to get the the information off of there...
I am like Lauren today and home sick. I rarely miss work due to being sick, but I cannot seem to get rid of this cold/sinus stuff. The last thing my patients want is someone cleaning their teeth who sounds like I do right now. Even with a mask on, it isn't good. My daughter will be home for the weekend, so hopefully, I will feel better by tomorrow evening. Oh, and Saturday is the dog show here. We will definitely be there Saturday morning.

I hope you come find me, I will be running around with a badge on I would love to meet you. YOu could have them page me at the desk. Kris Harner

I agree. But judging by their reaction i don't think its going to happen. That woman was almost smiling at me as she was listening to what i had to say. I was so frustrated walking away from their house.

I'm so sorry! I'm sure all of us have faced this situation at one time. She probably will need a friend. I hope you can find one!

I faced problems with neighbor dogs when my children were young...and I was young too so I tried the talking thing...learned real fast to just discretely handle things in my own way...Only ever had to handle things once in my life...I love all animals and other peoples animals too...but a bad dog and an uncaring neighbor has to be handled in a way that you are not feuding forever.

WOOT! The Lady I bought Lola from says YES! I can go pick up another Barred Rock from her to keep Lola company. :) Will be going down there this weekend. :) While I like Roadtrips. Johns Island is much closer and I have to reinforce my fence and get my planting done. . . But a roadtrip will be planned for the future!!

Thank you everyone for your support today.

Woot Woot! So happy for you! I grew up on John's Island! Bet I couldn't even find my way out there now! Went to the upstate at 13...LOL I am happy you are getting Lola a friend so quickly!

I would vote roadtrip to cross hill to see Dixiebeast. rir mix would probably about ready to lay

I think Dixiebeast is trying to have/host a hotdog meet-and-greet sometime in April at her place? I hope a lot of us can make it! She has mentioned it here a while back a couple times.
