just got one of these from tractor supply in Travelers rest. has anyone used this waterer before. thought it would be great for the turkeys and easier to fill. no lid seal to worry about.

Haven't seen this yet..thanks for sharing a pic! Always looking for better ways to water those outlying coops. I have 2 one gallon waterers in my furthest coop now trying to keep up with thirsty girls! I will definitely check this out! (although I am not too keen on carrying 5 gallons at once)...maybe get out my trusty handtrucks!

First..HI and WELCOME!! FYI..it took 16 years to talk DH into chickens and I had to build the first coop myself!! Now he is always trying new ways to build for different uses!! Your DH will jump on board real quick!! BTW too...started with 6 chicks last April...up to about 70 now!!
I am getting 1 Buff Orpington, 1 Golden Comet, 1 Easter Egger and 1 Silver Laced Wyandott. :)

My husband thinks I am nuts, but I am hoping that I can win him over. The kids are super excited tho. And I have heard about chicken math- lol I will have to learn how to be a carpenter if that holds true with me. I'll have to learn how to build coops for myself since DH wants no part of it. :D

One of the things I liked was that you can just pull off the lid and "top it off" and clean as needed. can add a gallon or two wihout having to plug it up. and the crud should not flow back into the main resevoir. I'll let you know how it goes.
