Sorry I can't help you much. but I do thank and appreciate you calling that production red what it is instead of a rhode island red that so many get mis represented these days. but here is a link to livestock auction in the state where you can find one local and meet other bird traders. might even find you new best friend at one. or on a bad day.. even me.

I live in Kershaw County and I need to rehome some roo's, I have too many.

I have the following six week olds: 2 Blue Copper Marans, 1 Barred rock/Wheaten Marans mix, 1 Olive Egger boy (on the right in the pic with the two chicks), one 10 week old Production Red and one 18 week old Buff Orpington roo. They are all good boys, all hatched by me with the exception of the BO, which I got at one day old.

The little dude on the right is my Olive Egger. His mother is a full bred Ameracauna and his father is a Wheaten Marans. He isn't as scrappy looking now that he is filling out a bit lol.

LOL He is a Production Red, right? That's what I was told when I got him! He was in the RED PULLET bin at Tractor Supply and turned out to not be a pullet. Thank you for the link, I might have to check one of those auctions out one of these days. I'm not looking to sell them, I just want them to get good homes. They are free to anyone that wants them. Ican't keep them, and right now I have 23 eggs in the bator due to hatch next weekend. Who knows how many MORE roo's I will have at that point

I'm out there fencing off a new section of the yard for my chicks to roam and as I do so. the hawk circles above. My cat has been MIA for a couple days. and I have 108 chicks from 2 to 9 months old running loose munching on grass. I do notice that when they chicks are out of the pen. they do a fantastic job of hiding umongst the junk when it flies over where in the pen they just stand there and watch it./ nature works when you let it. I wish I could get a game warden to trap and relocate it.

we've got a hawk that got at least one of my girls and then I had a second hen dissapear ( she had been sitting on her nest in the pasture next door ) and I found a puff of feathers the other day.. so sad... colton was in the woods the other day and came face to face with a very large. unafraid.. Coyote... not good when they arnt afraid.. unfortuantly he they coyote was on the neighbors land so he had to let him go..

my teenagers are getting big and my next age. I guesse they would be toddelers.. hahaha... they are growing but looks like 2 of my who knows what they are chicks are looking very very roo-ish... I got them from tsc.. they looked like little chickmonks. but so many breeds start out that way.. when they get up and start getting out of the gauky age I'll post pics to have a big guess off, of what they are.. All my chicks that I bought at the chickenstock are alive and well.. Had I known that they were gonna be there from the nc hatchery I would have waited and got all my chicks from them.. well except my barred Hollands I can only get them from Ideal hatchery.. it just kills me that out of 21 I have 4.. yup 4... ughhhh......I may try to order some more towards the end of may.. they really are my favorite. .

. I missed that they guy with the blue jersy giants wasnt there this spring chickenstock hopefully he will be there in the fall.. and I may be able to have some to traide. or donate.. as we have won chickens each year I would' like to donate a pair of mine for someone else to win.. I just love winning chickens.. even if i didnt really need them.. but Amy Nadine has taught me chicken math well.. haha... she and Sam,( dixiebeast) ha ha.. seams crazy that it was a year ago that i got my first chickens and met all these wonderul people here ... so glad I found ya'll..

and Im sorry again about he loss of your chicks.. .. I need a chick protector. too.. my dane will protect the chickens and Morgans ducks

Yes he is a production red. and I sold 7 of my little barred rock roos looked just like yours. for 5 dollars each friday night in catawba. and if folks didn't want them they would not bid on them. so you can be assured he is wanted when he is bid on. just put them in an old peach crate and take them on. or put them in a crate when you get there and carry them in a travel cage like I usually do.
