South Carolina

Hey folks. I have a bantam araucana rooster, born mid-December, that I am willing to give free if someone wants him. He is color mixed but showing predominantly BBR and has a really sloppy pea comb. Probably not a breeder; his fertility is unproven but he is a wonderful gentleman to my flock and will be sorely missed. Pendleton/Clemson area; unfortunately I am too busy to drive him anywhere so you'd need to pick up. This weekend is open as well as much of next week and the following weekend.

His temperament is just fine. He respects the fact that people are huge, and can be skittish (in a good way). Otherwise he thinks he's an elephant. Has a lovely voice and loves to use it. Come hear him crow and fall in love.

Please excuse the sideway photo - the forum decided that one wasn't good enough :p

This is Puffy the 7 week old BLRW that I got from Dixiebeast

This is Gimpy--the one I helped out of its shell. It bites a lot.

Jr is in front(boy?), then 11 which I think is a girl and then Lucy the boy in the back!

OK not sure which one this is! Thought it was Jr. but all the chipmunky looking ones start to blend together!!!

Love the Babies and I really love the one from dixiebeast!!! All Beautiful!!!!

I "may" have extra silkie eggs soon. I as "MAY" bc it's hard to not want to hatch them myself. Even when I know I can't possibly keep them all

Hey Chica I had someone ask me about silkies...is it ok for them to message u on FB or would you rather a call? And I think they want chicks not eggs really I'm not sure what they want They just ask me "Hey You know anybody who has silkies?" it may have just been a passing question or a real one. To be honest I totally spaced You Had Silkies...duh.. I know the nephew to the person who wants them, but from what I gather they love silkies, but I did pawn off my mutt chickens to them. Which they where so happy cause they had wild coloring. Holla Back!!!

Does the desire to hatch ever go away? I have plenty of chicks as it is but I soooooo want to be hatching chickens! lol! I need you guys to tell me your hatching info so that I can live through your hatches!!

Avonshire- if you don't want to get a incubator and deal with all that(cause it's even moe additive to get one) After a little while after your girls are older maybe next spring/summer one may go broody and if so and if you don't have a roo. Find one of us that has a breed of chicken or mutt chickens and get some eggs from them and Let MotherHen do all the work while you enjoy the experience. It's so cool!!! Cause even if Momma has just 2-4 babies to hatch she will be broken from the broodiness. I let one of my broody hens sit on fake eggs once and she sat on them for 2months...then stopped then went back to sitting on real eggs til they hatched raised them, then she waited another year before hatching a few more.

But I'll post pics of the progress of the Broody MFd'Uccles and if she hatches babies. I Don't need anymore chicken so I stopped using my incubator. Plus my Replacement Roo hasn't won over the ladies yet..actually they don't respect the MAN... hahah!!!! oh he wants it, but they ain't having it!!! LOL

Yancy--unfortunately I have the incubator and that is what I am addicted to! lol! I am thinking that if I am hatching to give them away(or possibly sell) that it would not be as much fun plus I don't know how I would feel about giving up my babies!!

Speaking of turkeys, here are 6 of the 7 I got from Kris and Robert. There are 3 Royal Palms (white ones) and there are 4 of the Tiger Bronze. They are so calm and personable and totally rotten! I am enjoying them a good bit and can't wait until they are big and beautiful and rotten! LOL

The turkeys sure are sweet. when they see you they come running over to get attention and a free elevator ride on your hand. such a change from the guineys who act as if you are going to eat them.
