You will definately find some chickens in this group! Lots of good folks with some quality birds. If you like RIR or Barred Rocks - LEIROB - I think that's his user name - has some nice ones.. but I don't know how much he sells them for.

Hey... So here is a random question.. Not even sure if its an "ok" question to ask... But how many of you will be showing at the state fair in the fall? Is there a secret BYC signal I should be wearing to make it easier to identify fellow BYC members... Like a bat signal, but instead a chicken signal? I know it's technically a competition.. I keep thinking of printing nametags with the BYC logo then we could write in our screen names

Oh, sure, it is a fine question to ask on here. The state fair may be a bit better than some of the other local fairs but it is more like a dog match than an actual show. You can't obtain APA points and so often the judges are just "experienced" bird owners.

One of the first things I did when I was going out to chicken events and wanted other BYCers to recognize me was to wear my BYC shirt. However, now I have a lot of West Knoll Farm shirts and people find me that way.
Funny story (at least to me), I kept seeing a van at our cavy (Guinea Pig) shows with a BYC bumper sticker on it and when we went up north to the Specialty I saw it yet again so with my big mouth I finally just shouted out to the crowd that I wanted to know who owned the van with that sticker on it. LOL Found her and knew her but never knew she was on BYC. Didn't even know she had chickens! She was our region superintendent! We always have a good laugh about it now. Can't wait to see her next month at our local cavy show in Arden NC.

Nope! Thank goodness!
Although, they both act scared out of their minds that you are going to eat them. However, Guinea Pigs are sweet and fun to cuddle, whereas most folks don't cuddle the Guinea keets without a bit of scratches to show for it.

Actually they were right beside the driveway in the pen at the shed where the old lawnmower was parked. The pen that Sam and I caught the Mottled roo for Lyn out of. Remember, I was all under that tree? HOW did you miss them running out all over the place?

It was a fun visit! I love all of you coming to see me! I love all you guys. I did not even know you were going to get to come! I just knew Lyn was going to bring me some special keets and Samantha was taking home a lot of the d'Uccles. My place is quiet today without Jasper and Casper crowing.
So glad you love the girl and I know L'il Red Man does! He ain't real picky!
