Yes, that was me, Teresa, LouAnn and April at her Blueberry farm that is about a mile from Paris Mt State Park. We had hoped you come out with us and we invited Jami to join us, too.
I grew up right there at Piedmont Park but now live out in the country. Taylors slices right through there. Our daughter's middle name is Taylor since we grew up right there and our first mobile home after we were married was a Taylor. It seemed appropriate.

Hey! It was nice talking to you the other day on the phone! Chickens are so addictive!

No, turkeys are not hard to raise as long as you follow the guidelines. I think Kris and Robert did like I did and had them in a wire bottom pen until they were about 6 weeks old and then put them out on the ground. They are friendly from day one as Robert quickly found out! They have always loved him!

And there is nothing cuter than a 2 week old turkey poult walking around trying to look proud displaying their butt fluff! They drop those wings and those fuzzy tail feathers shoot up and they arch their little pencil skinny necks! Poor dears kept getting snatched up for kisses! I am surprised they even display for me now!

But all I have to do is croon a bit and they display for me. And they still get picked up and kissed on. They love it!

Next time there's a gathering I definitely plan on being there! I almost brought my mom along since we had plans that day, but I like you all and I didn't want to be banned from future functions. Three words: Ethnic, filter-less, & opinionated. Let's just say I won't be showing my face at certain Saturday Market tables for a while. ("Look at those {insert veggie}, so ugly. I grow beautiful {everything} and I can't even get $1/lb at the flea market.")

Horrifying.

Also, if anyone in the area ever needs an extra set of hands on culling day (provided its a weekend day), I'd be glad to come help. I helped my mom a few years back when she had chickens, but its been a long time and I mainly just got to pluck. I want to watch someone do it again before I attempt it on my own.

And we should do it again, too! Some Saturday morning, we can meet here and have coffee and other stuff we should not eat but enjoy!
