Are you saying your chicks died from cocci after receiving the cocci vaccine or another vaccine?

Yes. They received the cocci vaccine at McMurray, which the state vet was alarmed by - she didn't think any of the hatcheries were using it for home flocks. They were kept indoors at all times and the brooder, which the previous hens had been in, was cleaned with Tektrol twice before I got the chicks. Previous hens were from my mom's backyard, never vaccinated, and never had a cocci outbreak.

OK Well truthfully I like that plan better. How do I get a bird to the Dr.? Where is the doctor? I have one that is my sickest. I am willing to sacrifice one ... I think!

Here's the link to the diagnostic center and the people I talked to when my chicks were sick. I never took one because I couldn't get off of work to drive to Columbia. They also told me to bring in a live one exhibiting symptoms for better diagnosis.

Oh my it looks like a necropsy is $90. That is a bunch of money! I thought someone here said it would be like $10??? Not sure where that was and maybe it does not involve as much?

the quote tab didnt work, so I copied the above.

This is the correct info, as for the price, I am not aware of the price and never have. Dont know where or who spoke of the 10, price. I can tell you that it is Dr Helm, who over sees the columbia lab.

Nikki, do you have that info from the npip class?

Anyone near Columbia selling Turkeys for Thanksgiving? Please let me know. Thanks.
KrisH and Robert had a bunch of turkeys for sale at one time. Not sure they will be ready for Thanksgiving though. Mine free range every day and eat developer and I think they would not be ready for Thanksgiving. They came from the same group KrisH and Robert have. We are NOT going to eat these guys....... for now! They are too sweet and fun and so darned personable. Mommies little helpers!

I go to the Lee Road Bazaar and sell honey every year. My favorite event of the year. They are a wonderful group of folks. If I lived close enough I would attend there.

Handmade crafts, jewelry, canned goods, baked items, vendors with various items!
DO NOT MISS IT!!
