I started flippin chicks. but only flipped 4 and the count was 3 cockerels and 1 pullet so I quit flippin chicks.
When I'm flippin my chicks I want them to be pullets. ( Those game chicken people I hatch for would be delighted about now lol )

Quote: "Concentrated anti-infective aids in the control of chronic respiratory disease due to M. gallisepticum, infectious coryza due to H. gallinarum and bluecomb in growing turkeys."
However, it is an antibiotic and good for anything worse than sniffles. I try not to use it but there are times when a really great bird needs it. And it is great to boost birds right before a show for some people. I would not do that but I would do it after bringing home from a show or sale while in isolation. Great for treating viruses and getting that immune system boosted so a good fight can be won in the body of a stressed bird.
Reading an article on turkeys I acme across this statement "Adequate fresh air, dry bedding and good ventilation are essential to prevent respiratory disease."My sickest died today. I called and they said I could ship it on ice to them. It will cost me $90 + shipping. If you guys were me what would you do? I have a mf d'uccle, 2 gold necks d'uccle, 1 white silkie/cochin mix, 1 cochin, 1 sboeg, and 1 silkie left. I just can't see myself killing them all. Is it that they are sick and not getting better? Is it that the coop just keeps reinfecting them? I was using a humidifier with oxine in the coop. I have not done it in a week or so though because I did not see it really helping. I fear that everyday I risk it getting to me other chickens. How come it could not just be a little cold that they have for a week or so and then get better OR it kills them off quickly? This long drawn out stuff leaves me not knowing what to do!
Thanks!!

Building my turkeys their new pen this weekend. They are getting so big! They've almost tripled in size since I got them. They've calmed down a lot. I can pick them up without much fuss now. Also, one of my mixed hens decided to be broody, so I have her on 8 wyandotte eggs to hatch for my aunt who wants a flock of themThey're due to hatch on Halloween, so there will be no shortage of themed names for them.![]()
Last night I went hunting and got a big doe!Hopefully the first of many successful hunts this season!![]()

I would be worried with a humidifier in the coop as humidity creates a germ breeding ground, and not sure how humidifier affects oxene, and dispersal of the oxene. I would think pump up sprayer would be more effective. (Opinion, not fact)
how long between infections? weeks, or days? I would think EVERYONE would have been exposed to whatever it may be.
have you looked at or tried VetRx? supposedly designed as herbal remedy to respiratory issues
