i have both... i had a trio of cortunix and the hens recently killed my little roo... i was like... what...???¿ they are tuxedo too... i got all mad... they pecked his eyes out, and just beat him up sick... i dunno why... so i'm not gonna get anymore of those unless they're the giant ones... too much drama... the bob white's also gave me trouble... i had a pen with like 3 males and 6 females, but then they also started beating on eachother, and now i only have a trio left... crazy little birds...

I had the same troubles with the bobs a couple times, the males compete and sometimes just decide they don't like somebody - they gang up and jump them to death...

no problems with the coturnix though, they've been really mellow and tame too.

The little buttons were the worst.... males and females were getting po'ed and scalping eachother, they even killed a diamond dove. yikes!

button quails need to be in pair not groups or the males will fight and the coturnix hens sometimes go crazy on certain cage mates because of the male to much mating with her and the bobs are just aggressive some days they are happy and another they can't even stand them selves.

no... my hen cortunix went Aileen Wuornos on the roo... she pecked his eye out, then when she would pull some head feathers out, she would mount the other hen... so i picked her up and did the sex test and yep, she's a female alright... lays eggs and everything... just totally went nuts... i still have her if anyone wants two cortunix hens that are serial killers...

i should name them thelma and louise...
