Southern CA Swap meet-up / Funday 9/24/11

OH Flower, that would be SO wonderful, I sure hope you can make it. ALSO noseychickens is coming and they live by North Edwards AFB, if that is closer to you maybe they could be persuaded to take brewster with them???

. He lives in the bario with a bunch of gamey mutt roos and a few hens. LOL.

Does anyone happen to have a small sized coop they are looking to sell or get rid of? I just got 2 little silkies and they are very much unable to walk up the ramp of our big coop (not to mention that the other larger, older hens don't really like them all that much). Anyway, thought I'd check since everyone is in the Southern California area. Thanks

Thank you for update pics!! He looks nice and healthy! By the time he's 6 months old, his chest should be solid black. That must be his little cochin buddy next to him? How Cute!

Hi all,

Sorry to be a downer, didn't know how else to reach the Southern California folks.

I lost three out of my flock this afternoon.

Among them was my favorite, "Winnie," a GLW.

The three I have left in the run are looking pretty lonely tonight. I think they need some more buddies. If ANY of you have any baby or started pullets you're looking to offload this month, lets talk - I'll be happy to buy them from you on the 24th.

ETA: The three mentioned above are 10-week old pullets. There are six more 1-3 week-old pullets in the brooder. I don't like "9," it's an odd number. Looking to get back to at least 12. Nice and even.

So sorry for you loss. I'm sure someone will have some pullets. I have a few hens that I am looking to re-home that are pretty. I think I posted some pics of them but if not, PM me if you are interested.

I wish I had a car to go to the meeting, you guys seem awesome

. But since I can't make it but I see there's a lot of people from SoCal here in this forum, then I'm going to dare to ask: do you guys know where I can get a white or columbian plymouth rock pullet or young hen near El Monte?

I can't find any in pet finder, and the feed store doesn't have any white hens yet. Also, my brother in law caught one of the stray chickens that were left behind when a neighbor moved away. I don't think we're gonna keep her, so I'm looking for options to find a new home for her? Poor thing is not used to human contact at all D:
