I use dumor pellets(from Tractor) and they seem to work good. The crumbles was way dusty and you waste more feed. I only use crumble for the chicks and for the quail.
Dumor crumble seems to be to powdery and wasteful to me. Pellets I recommend.
Also, when I switch brands, the birds lapse on egg making for a little bit. So I recommend finding a brand that meets quality, price & performance and stick with it. Switching over temporarily to another brand because it is also temporarily cheaper, hurts you in the long run with egg production. My opinion anyway. And based of personal experience.
Ducks are better on crumble.Do you have ducks by chance? Wondering how they'd so on pellets instead of crumble
Ducks are better on crumble.
Why?
They use water to swallow their food. Crumbles go down easier and soak easier versus pellets.
Ducks will eat pellets. However, they do better with crumble. So I'm kind of stuck with the crumble because the ducks share everything with the chickens.

Remember if you raise growing ducks, to supplement the chick feed with niacin for the ducklings.
Ues i have ducks and yes they eat pellets. They only ate crimbles when theu were ducklings and then switched rhem right over. They just shovel them in their mouths. Just make sure they always have water around... and if they dont have it naturally grit and shell available at all times incase they may need it. Mine free range but i still offer both to the chickens and ducks 24/7.Do you have ducks? Trying to figure out if the ducks will eat the pellets. TIA.

Your welcome everyone does it their own way. They will eat either pellets or crumbles. I dont use the crumbles for any of my birds(other then the quail for obvious reasons) because i think you waste more food then needed and its alot cleaner. The crumbles are so dusty. LolThanks girl!
