full of wonders and temptations!

We stopped by to buy some poultry netting and when we went in to pay, we heard little 'cheep, cheep, cheep' noises.

Well, my daughter and I went over to investigate and fell in love. We came home with 3 straight run silkie bantams, a Barred Rock pullet and a Buff Orpington pullet.

Hubbie had told us to think about it and maybe come back later, but we went to a marathon expo and by the time we left there, he drove straight to the store to buy the chickens. LOL He's a lot softer than he wants us to think!

LOL I love it. We had to go to the feed store to stock up on feed and scratch. They had just put up a sign saying new chicks for sale. Hubby made me stay in the car.

I am just nosy...what state do you live in? Most states require that you buy a minimum of 6 at a time.

BTW... congrats!

I live in PA and the only place I know of around my area that has a minimum is TSC. My feed store doesn't require a minimum (lucky for hubby, or we would be overrun with chicks!

Kim, our local feed store, Wards, doesn't have a minimum either. I think its just a TSC thing. Now that I think of it, our Farm Co-op doesn't have a limit either.

I had to buy 5 at a time at the store I went to in Maryland. I know what you mean about the temptation. I couldn't resist getting those five, and I, too, was just going to the store for feed for my other chickens. Very dangerous place, indeed.

I live in Central Texas and the only place that requires you to buy six or more is Tractor Supply and that is only around Easter so that the Easter groups that buy the chicks for their kids don't buy from them so that the chicks aren't killed or thrown out after Easter. Everywhere else sells you just one if that is how many you want to buy.
