Soy-Free Poultry Feed

Looking for recommendation on soy-free feeds.

I get violently ill if I eat eggs from chickens or ducks that eat soy. Took me many different local producers to figure that one out. I thought I'd developed an egg allergy late in life.

I'm currently feeding scratch & peck naturally free grower. The ducks love it but I like to rotate between different feeds for animals.

I use a mix of Earth First and Scratch and Peck.

I use the Earth First as their Layer feed and then I use Scratch and Peck's 3 grain scratch as a whole grain mix in to their feed. Earth First is Soy Free

Well for starters, if you have white ducks, they won't turn yellow Just take my little butter-glob Wobbles as inspiration, LOL! Also, corn has a lot of natural sugars, so if your ducks eat a lot of it they can develop a weight problem or even fatty liver disease over time. It's not really an issue if your ducks forage, but if they're in a pen all day or are house ducks like mine and they only have access to their feed, it's definitely a concern.

The soy free thing makes me even happier, though. I've never heard of this brand before Amiga, thanks for cluing me in!

Pretty much what Amykins said. There are some who also choose to avoid GMO food, and corn and soy are quite likely to be so.

THanks . I was just coming back to edit my post to be non judgemental of personal or other reasons for choosing corn-free.

I happen to be feeding a soy-free and corn-free feed already. But I wanted to make sure I understood if there was a nutrition or health reason for avoiding corn .

What brand do you use, hun? I've been feeding mazuri for almost a year now but I'm just now learning about corn-free duck feed and I'm anxious to know more!

Yeah, I know what you mean. I know soy can be bad news bears for mammals as it messes with their endocrine systems hard-core. I myself had a hard time of it when I went veggie for a year back in college, before I was diagnosed with fibroids, and my hormones were a right mess!
