Space requirements

Why is it chickens need so much more space than ducks. I read on a UK site that they are craming 20 ducks in a house 7'6x4'4x4'4. That just doesn't make any sence to me. That is only 1.6 square foot per bird. Can someone explain this to me. John

I guess we treat our birds better!! How happy can a any one or any thing be crammed in a small space? That ain't living...it's existing.
