I've got a styrofoam incubator with a fan and an automatic egg turner. This is my first time using the egg turner. I have 12 eggs, but the turner fits more than that. Is there an optimal spacing for the eggs, like put them in the center of the turner or space them every other spot?

Not really. With a fan the temperature should be the same everywhere in there, though if it is a homemade incubator, maybe not. That would be my only concern. If you get uneven heating in there, there could be a benefit to moving them around to different slots to balance out the temperature, but any commercial incubator, still air or forced air, should be at the same temperature everywhere at that level as long as a still air is sitting level. You don’t have a still air. Humidity should be the same everywhere. Turning will be the same everywhere. Unless you have something really weird going on it really should not matter.
