Spalding Hen Questions (was What is this?)

And then there's my crap camera and my photo taking skills, lol.

She's definitely spalding and obviously heat stressed. I see an egg in the pen as well, if she is laying the heat will be even tougher on her, I've seen my hens looking and acting like that in extreme heat, they pant as bad as our Rottweiler. Better pics will be needed to make any further judgements on her color.

Any particular are I should get pictures of?

The front of the neck and breast area looked really light colored to me. Way lighter than my spalding yearling hen who is only 50% green, do you have any idea how old she is? She has a lot of yellow on her face, more than mine, so maybe older than a year.

The spalding peahen can have many different colors!

It comes from green peahen ..... that are often more beautiful than the males.

This may sound like a stupid question, but do Spadling hens lay eggs in the evening like my IB?

It's a Spalding! Dany is right. Spaldings are mixes. Breeding them together will make all kinds of interesting patterns. I have seen spaldings with the necks like yours. Maybe some Redbuff in her mix? they have lots of brown on the necks.

They lay eggs in the evenings also!
