Rodeo bulls buck as a natural instinct to fight off the threat of being attacked by a predator, such as a rider on their back:

  • Flank strap
A tight strap around the bull's flank encourages them to buck with their hind legs. This strap is designed to make the bull uncomfortable and create negative stimulus.

  • Spurs
Riders use dull spurs to get a grip on the bull, but not to scratch it.

  • Genetics
Bulls are selectively bred to be more sensitive to negative stimuli and more likely to buck.

  • Fear, stress, and panic
Bulls experience increased fear, stress, and panic when they are ridden, which triggers their "fight-or-flight" response.

  • Escape
Bulls may try to escape the chute or throw themselves into solid objects to get rid of the rider and strap.
Bulls are trained to buck by being bucked with a dummy a couple of times when they are about a year old. Once they are about two years old, they are bucked more frequently to get them used to the arena.
Yep! the flank strap part kind of worried me when I first started learning about rodeos. but after talking to some people I learned the bulls can stop whoever is putting it on them quite easily and they let it be put on them which is good. but I can never justify calf tying

i agree with calf tying. bull riding and calf tieing are not so good, but its not HORRIBLE. at least they don't drug them

I just read some and I agree
Early on the Chiefs made him a big deal and of course he always said how great KC was and how he considered it home etc etc.
You kind of expect that but he's lived up to it. He does a lot here locally and tries to do a lot without it making the papers.
I thought he was arrogant at times too but for as good of a player as he is I've rethought that. Actually leaning more to him being pretty humble about things now.
I'm not a NFL player fan in general. I find most think they're more then they are.
