is you look at the physics of it, in theory landing a rocket in a weightless environment would be easier than on earth
Lol, ya I'm sure we had lots of theories then too. That may have been the problem. They were just theories.
Were we landing stuff back here then? I think we were just letting fall back to earth.
Ever seen that thing we "landed" on the moon? I think it was made out of a Volkswagen beetle and some old trampolines. And maybe a few foil birthday balloons.

but yes, they do fall back to earth. it's once they've gotten close and the speed starts building up
