Speaking of morons: And the Fates were kind...

Yep, airheart43, it means more hard work for us!

That's actually PART of why I'm keeping him in his coop and run for a few days, is to really associate it with apples and yogurt and yummies.. *grin* (and to associate me with those things as well).

I am a lot more confident that he'll come home now, I just really want to reinforce that this is where the good stuff is..

And try to regain some of the trust I lost trying to catch him yesterday! *laughs* (They really don't have a good "guilty look" smiley and they should

I did actually, here: https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=17071

Today when I got home I went out with some tomato, picked him up (heh, he wasn't entirely thrilled) and basically made him eat out of my hands.. (I was very gentle about it, and just made the tomato available, but if he wanted to eat it, he had to take it from me).. I did a little reading on chicken dominance this afternoon, and just want to make sure that he knows that a.) I am a source of yummy food and b.) top bird.

*laughs* It's a careful line lol

But he was actually pretty relaxed about being loved on, which was nice.. It's amazing how soft they are!! And I actually think he's younger than we thought, he still has a lot of fuzz around his tail feathers.

What a beautiful boy! And so nice of you to rescue him. i hope he works out. He looks pretty smart.

i love your video on youtube. i have got to figure out how to do that. i have a video camera, just haven't taken the time to learn. Your daughter sounds adorable. i bet she will love having chickens.

So glad everything is working out. Looking forward to seeing your Cube chicken coop.
