eats fine, and doesn't seem to be in any pain. I will wait and see how it plays out

Krista,

That is good to hear! Let us all know how it plays out with the special needs chick. What did you decide to name him again?

My best girl I raised by hand was attacked & left for dead by a hawk about 3 weeks ago. She is now handicapped. When she was able to walk again after the attack, she walked in circles & sometimes still does. She just has that "special personality" now. I think she knows that I am helping her. She was pecked on both sides of her neck & her beak is not working properly. It is getting better. I had to hand feed her special foods. I lock her up at night & let her out in the morning, she always takes a crash landing usually a face plant on the ground. I feel so bad for her, but she wants to be a chicken. I think you should just raise Shorty & love him for who he is just like my Hazel. I love her even more now for trying to overcome her attack. Maybe they will never be right but who cares....right?

This post has almost made me want a "special needs" chick...well I have about 25 in the bator so maybe I'll get one that survives. Haven't had one die due to sickness yet...just the dog *grumble....mutt....grumble*

Oh and naming him shorty because of the Short bus is pretty mean, but I have to admit it IS a tad funny. At least he didn't name him Corky (old TV show guy with down syndrome) or even Matt Damon (another "special needs" actor)

HA HA HA
